After the end of the residency, despite being in different locations, the resident artists and the team have maintained cross-regional collaboration to advance the creative process together, using the project as a link. After months of meticulous polishing and creative iteration, their works and stories have been presented at events, exhibitions and appearances at home and abroad, demonstrating the artists' continued passion and deepened exploration of their work, as well as presenting to the public their unique insights into the combination of Qiang culture and digital art.
During the ten-day residency, the participating artists combined inspiration gathered during their field research with their individual creative strengths, crossing disciplinary boundaries to engage in a deep artistic dialogue with the ancient heritage of the Qiang people. Their practices ranged from filming documentaries on Qiang language inheritors, creating outdoor installations themed around nature worship, compiling albums dedicated to Qiang embroidery, to reimagining traditional embroidery patterns using 3D technology. These diverse and innovative approaches not only deepened the artists' connections with the Qiang community but also left a mark of creative vitality on this resilient land.
This residency explored how art can contribute to rural revitalization and demonstrated the vast potential of artistic expression in the context of social development. Over the course of several weeks, the artists delved into the rich cultural imagery of the Qiang, ranging from traditional motifs and linguistic symbols to ancient rituals, folk instruments, and natural landscapes. They sought to decode and reinterpret the Qiang’s unique narrative structures and spiritual world through digital media, creating residency works that fuse video, sound, installation, interaction, and generative art.
The resulting artworks span a wide range of forms, including video installations, oil painting installations, sound art, algorithm-generated visuals, 3D printing, digital prints, and interactive projection-based installations. Through these works, the artists respond to the cultural shifts and spiritual worlds of mountain communities, inviting each viewer to take part in an artistic dialogue on intangible cultural heritage and contemporary vitality.

数字羌境:像素与线群展
Overview
